Caramel Frosting – A Sinfully Sweet Treat

Sticky Date Cupcakes with Caramel Frosting 2This super sweet frosting is perfect for Sticky Date Cupcakes and is versatile enough to be used on everything from cakes to cookies.  This is a hard setting frosting.  For use on cookies, or where shape is required simply allow the frosting to set in the pot for 5 -10 minutes before piping.

Caramel Frosting

  • 1/2C Butter (unsalted)
  • 1C Brown Sugar
  • 1/4C Milk
  • 1tsp Vanilla
  • 3-4C Icing Sugar (powdered sugar)
  • Melt butter in small saucepan
  • Once butter has melted add brown sugar and bring to the boil
  • Boil, stirring for 1 minutes or until thickened
  • Remove from stove and stir in milk and vanilla, beat until smooth
